An Important Covid Update About Queen Elizabeth And Prince Philip Has Emerged

Coronavirus has changed everything about life as we know it, with people still isolated to their homes in a third lockdown. Not exempt from this are the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth, 94, and the Duke of Edinburgh, 99, are based in Windsor Castle, where they have been on lockdown for most of the past year.

This week, the royal couple made headlines as an important update emerged.

The Queen has now received her second COVID-19 vaccination, reportedly getting the jab as she referred to it, ahead of her first public appearance of the year last week, to mark the Centenary of the Royal Australian Air Force.

The Queen And Prince Philip Have Covid Vaccine Sending ‘strong Message To Anti

The pair received the vaccine, believed to be the Oxford-produced AstraZeneca version, at Windsor Castle. Sources say the Queen released a statement to prevent speculation

The Queen and Prince Philip had Covid jabs yesterday and released the news in a powerful message to anti-vaxxers.

Her Majesty, 94, broke with royal protocol by revealing she and Prince Philip, 99, had the vaccine at Windsor Castle.

A household doctor administered the jab, thought to be the Oxford-produced AstraZeneca version.

Palace sources said the Queen let it be known she had the vaccine to prevent inaccuracies and further speculation.

Her Majesty, 94 and Philip, 99, were the second European royals to go public after Queen Margrethe of Denmark, 80, said last week she had received the first dose.

A Palace spokesman said: The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have today received Covid-19 vaccinations.

One well-placed insider said: This is a hugely significant moment in history and a decision the Queen would not have made lightly.

It sends a strong message of hope throughout what the Queen acknowledges has been a very difficult and unprecedented time for the country.

Normally the Royal Family would be fiercely private about such matters but the Queen felt this was a moment to lead from the front and was acutely aware of the commentary surrounding the unwillingness to accept the vaccine.

Queen Elizabeth Ii Returns To Public View After Catching Covid To Attend Service Honoring Late Husband Prince Philip

London Queen Elizabeth II joined other members of Britain’s royal family on Tuesday to give thanks for the life of her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, nearly a year after he died at the age of 99. It was the queen’s first public event since testing positive for COVID-19 last month.

The service at the historic Westminster Abbey in central London was billed as a larger celebration of Philip’s life after coronavirus restrictions limited the size of his funeral last year.

CBS News correspondent Roxana Saberi said about 1,800 guests were invited to the service, including British and international royalty and members of the charities the prince supported. But the event was as much about the service itself, as it was about who attended and who didn’t.

After a lot of speculation, the queen did attend. The 95-year-old monarch had cut back on her public appearances since spending a night in the hospital last October and catching COVID last month. “She has mobility issues. Some days are better than others,” royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah told Saberi. But she said Tuesday’s service may have been the queen’s most important engagement in a decade.

“She wanted to be here in order to show her, and pay her respects, to pay tribute and also to thank all the people who’ve come together to honor him today,” she said.

Leith called the experience a “painless jab” and encouraged others to follow suit.

In addition, a 91-year-old British grandpa went viral for his interview after getting the COVID-19 vaccination. No point in dying now when I have lived this long, is there? he was quoted as saying.

Prince Philip Hospital Temporary Changes To Reduce Risk Of Covid

Temporary changes are being made at two wards in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, to protect patients and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The stroke rehabilitation ward, Ward 9, and older adult mental health ward, Bryngolau, are temporarily closed to new admissions following a small number of individuals, including staff and patients, testing positive for COVID-19. There are less than 15 individuals between the two areas with confirmed positive COVID-19.

All patients in these areas have been tested and are being cared for appropriately with regular communication with them and their families or carers. Affected staff are also being tested, with appropriate staffing arrangements in place, including stringent infection prevention and control measures and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Hywel Dda University Health Board wanted to reassure people in the Llanelli area that they were still safely accepting stroke patients at Prince Philip Hospital, through the Acute Stroke Unit, and providing alternative care for older adult mental health. Robust contingency plans are in place to ensure the best possible care is provided to patients when they need it.

Hospital Director and Respiratory Consultant Dr Robin Ghosal said: COVID-19 is circulating in our communities, but thanks to testing and tracing, and stringent infection prevention measures, we are much more aware and able to deal with risks in order to protect our patients, staff and wider community.

Queen And Prince Philip Receive Coronavirus Vaccinations At Windsor Castle

Her Majesty and Prince Philip were given the jabs by a Household Doctor at Windsor Castle today, Buckingham Palace said

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have today received the Covid-19 vaccination, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The jabs were administered to the couple by a Household Doctor at Windsor Castle, a royal source confirmed today.

The monarch decided to go public to prevent further speculation as to whether she was going to have the vaccine.

The become the second and third royals to go public after Queen Margrethe of Denmark announced earlier this week that has received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, becoming the first European royal to publicly acknowledge being vaccinated.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have today received Covid-19 vaccinations.

Royal aides have previously said it was a “personal decision” and “private matter” but it was widely understood that the Queen would would “let it be known” when she received the vaccine.

The Queen’s public backing will no doubt be seen as a powerful message to her 68 million subjects that the vaccine is safe.

At 94 and Prince Philip at 99 they were set to be some of the first in line to receive the vaccine but aides said the couple “would wait their turn” quelling any argument that they would see preferential treatment.

“We are defeating this virus jab by jab.”

Prince Andrew’s Covid Case During Jubilee Met With Skepticism: ‘bulls***’

Prince Andrew was ruled out of a Platinum Jubilee church service with COVID-19but the palace announcement got a skeptical reaction in Britain.

The Duke of York was expected to be at St. Paul’s Cathedral, in London, on Friday, June 3, for a Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s Reign.

However, he pulled out after testing positive for coronavirus, sparing the royal family a reputational backlash similar to the one that followed a memorial to Prince Philip which Andrew attended in March 2022.

A palace spokesperson said on June 2: “After undertaking a routine test, the duke has tested positive for COVID and with regret will no longer be attending tomorrow’s service.”

A source close to Prince Andrew told Newsweek: “After testing positive for COVID, The Duke is naturally disappointed and saddened that he will not be able to join other royal family members at St Paul’s Cathedral for a Service of Thanksgiving in celebration of the Queen’s 70-year reign.”

Some in Britain, however, appeared to cast doubt on the announcement, which was viewed as convenient for the monarchy at a time when the queen was expected to take center stage, not her disgraced son.

Pub owner Adam Brooks wrote: “Hardly anyone is getting Covid, but we are to believe Prince Andrew has caught it this week. Definitely living in a joke of a sci-fi movie. I call bull**** “
