What Are The Restrictions

Tips to getting a quick COVID-19 test abroad after new travel rules go into effect

Travelers to the country must complete a health declaration form and scan the QR code it generates on arrival.

There is no need to take a test before departure or undertake any form of quarantine. Those concerned they may have symptoms should ask for the Sanidad Internacional health organization.

Some Mexican states or cities might have tighter restrictions.

In Jalisco state, where the popular Pacific Coast resort town of Puerto Vallarta is located, Gov. Enrique Alfaro has announced a new vaccination requirement for some recreational spaces.

As of January 14, a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test result taken within 48 hours is required to enter spaces in Jalisco state such as casinos, bars, clubs, stadiums, concerts, event spaces, convention centers and large events. See the order here.

Tourists may want to inquire with their hotels or resorts about any local directives before committing to plans.

Are You Allowed To Travel To Mexico

The short answer is yes, Mexico is one of the countries allowing American tourists to plan a vacation. And while U.S. citizens can’t drive into the country for nonessential travel, they can fly there. Over the summer and fall, airlines like United Airlines and Southwest started adding flights to popular spots, including Cancun, San Jose del Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, and Mexico City.

The country’s many resorts have also adjusted to COVID-19, adopting health guidelines from offering plenty of sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and masks to taking advantage of the naturally outdoor lifestyle .

Norway Travel Restrictions From The Uk

  • Vaccinated tourists: No testing or quarantine
  • Unvaccinated tourists: No testing or quarantine

The Norwegian government has now lifted all Covid-19 entry restrictions for British travellers, regardless of vaccination status. If youre travelling to mainland Norway, you will no longer need to test, quarantine or complete a pre-departure form to go.

The one exception is the archipelago of Svalbard. If you are not fully vaccinated, you will need to present a negative rapid antigen test taken 24 hours before departure to Svalbard and take another test 24 hours after arrival.

Travel From Saudi Arabia

If you are travelling from Saudi Arabia, you must present additional documents and a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be done not later than 72 hours before the scheduled departure.

Please check the requirements of your specific destination before you travel.

Effective from 09 September 2021, the following Saudi nationals are allowed to travel from Saudi Arabia subject to specific conditions:

  • Saudi nationals who have received the full doses of the approved COVID-19 vaccine in the kingdom and must update their status on the Tawakkala app.
  • Saudi nationals who have recovered from COVIDâ19 can travel within 6 months of the date they were diagnosed and must update their status on the Tawakkala app.
  • Saudi nationals who have recovered from COVIDâ19 and they have received one dose of the approved vaccines in the kingdom.
  • Saudi nationals below 12 years old must have an insurance policy approved by the Saudi Central Bank that covers treatment for COVIDâ19 while abroad.

All nationalities travelling from Saudi Arabia are allowed to travel to or transit through Dubai.

United States Of America

Latest travel requirements

All air passengers above 2 years old, travelling on Emirates flights departing from Dubai, regardless of vaccination status, must show a negative PCR COVID-19 test result for a test taken no more than 1 day before travel to the United States, or documentation of recovery if infected with COVID-19 within the last 90 days. Passengers transiting via Dubai may present a COVID 19 PCR or Rapid Antigen test taken at their point of origin as per CDC guidelines. Rapid testing will not be permitted while in transit in Dubai.

Passengers on direct flights to the US from Athens or Milan can present a COVID 19 PCR or Rapid Antigen test as per CDC guidelines.

Please visit the CDC website for more detailed information regarding COVID 19 testing, vaccination and attestation requirements. Please be advised Emirates will not accept Covid-19 antigen tests for travel to the USA on direct Emirates flights for passengers originating their journey from Dubai. Passengers joining in Athens or Milan, or transiting via Dubai, may present negative antigen tests taken at the point of departure.

From 8th November only US citizens, US nationals, US Lawful Permanent Residents, and Immigrants will be permitted travel if unvaccinated. A limited number of exceptions where a non-US citizen who is not fully vaccinated can travel to the US can be found here.

    If youâre travelling from South Africa, you must complete all the requirements of your specific destination and present a valid negative COVID-19 PCR and COVID-19 Rapid PCR certificate as specified below.

    You will be required to wear protective equipment upon entering the airport terminal and comply with sanitisation and social distancing measures as per the relevant health protocols on safety and prevention of the spread of COVID-19. A temperature test will be performed at the terminal entrance, and you will be required to present your negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate.

    COVID-19 testing requirements

    First mandatory test : Passengers must present a printed copy of a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code issued within 48 hours from the time of collecting the sample, and within 48 hours of departure from the following laboratories.

    Who Needs A Pre

    • All travellers 5 years of age or older
    • You must provide proof of a COVID-19 negative molecular test result to enter Canada OR proof of a previous positive test result taken between 14 and 180 days ago .

    If you are now symptom-free, you can provide proof of a positive COVID-19 molecular test when crossing the border, instead of a negative one.

    • The test must have been taken at least 14 and no more than 180 days before :
      • the initial scheduled departure time of your aircraft
      • your scheduled entry into Canada by water or land
    • The proof of the positive result must be from an accepted type of molecular test
    • If your positive proof is accepted you wont have to take arrival or Day-8 tests

    You must take a molecular test within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your flight to Canada.

    If you have a connecting flight:

    • the test must be taken within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your last direct flight to Canada
    • you may need to schedule the test in your transit city

    Travel From The Uae To Ireland

    New COVID testing rules to travel to U.S.

    UAE nationals and residents can travel to Ireland under the following conditions:

  • Be fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency . Approved vaccines:
  • Pfizer-BioNtech – 7 days after the second dose
  • Moderna – 14 days after the second dose
  • Oxford-AstraZeneca- 15 days after the second dose
  • Johnson & Johnson/Janssen – 14 days after a single dose
  • CoronaVac

  • A mixed dose of any of these recognised vaccines

  • Have an EU Digital COVID-19 Certification of recovery
  • All passengers must complete a passenger locator form .

    Passengers arriving from Dubai do not need a quarantine booking.

    Non-vaccinated children under 12 years of age are permitted to travel with fully vaccinated parents without any additional requirements.

    A test is not required to enter Mexico, but you’ll need to show a negative test to board your flight back to the US.

    No test required to enter Mexico, but proof of negative test required to fly back to US.

    If youre flying American Airlines, you might want to use their VeriFLY app. It will speed up your check-in for your flight home.

    Fully vaccinated Brits and children under 18 accompanying them can enter Switzerland without any need to test, quarantine or complete an entry form.

    International Students And Researchers: Conditions For Entering France

    Depending on your country of departure and your vaccination status, the procedures that apply to travel to France are different. We recommend you complete a full vaccination cycle before your departure to facilitate your arrival and daily life in France.

    Students and researchers from Category 1 countries and territories do not need to have proof of pressing grounds to travel to France.

    For students and researchers from Category 2 and Category 3 countries and territories, the following reasons are recognized as pressing grounds for travel:

    Travel To Cte D’ivoire

    If youâre travelling to Cote dâIvoire, you are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test and present a negative certificate to be accepted for travel. You will also need to complete a Health Declaration Form and present a 4-digit confirmation code on arrival. All passengers will undergo a free antigen test on arrival.

    The cost of the COVID-19 test is CFA 25,000, payable online

    COVID-19 PCR testing

    All passengers, except children under the age of 12. A certificate from any government approved laboratory is acceptable. All passengers travelling to Abidjan must have a valid printed negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate for a test taken not more than 48 hours before arrival.

    Required forms

    All passengers arriving or transiting in Cote dâIvoire must complete the Health Declaration Form available on the Travel Information on Ministry of Transport site. The form must be printed and presented to the health authorities on arrival.

    When you have completed the required information on the website, you will receive a fourâdigit code on the registered telephone number. You will have to use the fourâdigit code sent to your mobile phone to download and print the form. This form should be presented at Abidjan Airport as it is a mandatory requirement for travel from, to and through Cote dâIvoire .


    There are currently no quarantine requirements for travel to Cote d’Ivoire.

    Who Doesnt Need An Arrival Test

    Fully vaccinated travellers only need to do an arrival test if they are selected for randomized arrival testing.

    All travellers will receive calls from a live agent or automated system and you may also be visited at your place of quarantine by a Screening Officer to verify your compliance.

    You are under a legal obligation to take the arrival and Day-8 tests. Failure to comply with the requirements of the Quarantine Act and emergency orders made under this Act is an offence and could lead to fines of up to $750,000 or imprisonment. If you do not take the tests, you may also be transferred to a designated quarantine facility.

    International Testing Requirement To Enter The Us

    International travelers now need negative COVID test day before flying to U.S.

    In addition to the above requirements to go to Mexico, the U.S. Government now requires every U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, and immigrant traveling into the United States to provide COVID-19-related documentation and contact tracing information. If youre not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, or an immigrant, you have additional requirements for entry, which includes providing proof of vaccination. Those additional requirements and criteria for exceptions can be found here.

    What youll need:

    To avoid longer processing times at the airport, complete each of these steps before arriving at the airport for your trip from Mexico to the U.S.:

  • Submit an attestation form through Southwest to the U.S. Government that confirms you are negative for COVID-19 or have recently recovered from COVID-19. Each Passenger must submit a form after receiving proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day before your departure. You can find that form here, but will be unable to complete it until you are within the 72 hour window. If you dont complete the form before you get to the airport, you’ll need to do so at the airport before boarding and may be subject to long lines.
  • Bring proof of your negative qualifying COVID-19 test results or proof of your recent recovery from COVID-19, which could be either of the following:

    What Is The Essential Documentation Required For This Form

    Anyone who is visiting Mexico must carefully fill out the Mexico Tourist Card and provide the following documentation while applying via

    • Passport: You must be able to provide a passport that is valid a few months beyond your stay in the country.
    • Email address: An email address via which documents can be sent safely.

    Providing Proof Of Your Result

    When you arrive at the border, you must present an accepted negative molecular test result or proof of a previous positive molecular test result taken between 14 and 180 days that includes:

    • Traveller name and date of birth
    • Name and civic address of the laboratory/clinic/facility that administered the test
    • The date on which the test was taken
    • The type of test taken
    • The test result

    Keep proof of your test results with you for the 14-day period that begins on the day you enter Canada.

    Flying To Mexico During Covid

    To travel to Mexico now, foreign citizens need to meet all regular entry requirements and complete a health declaration form.
