Does Chris Paul Have Covid

If Paul Was Simply Exposed To Someone With Covid

Chris Paul enters COVID-19 health and safety protocols, reports say

If Paul does not have COVID, then he still needs to quarantine for a while to be sure he does not contract it or give it to others like the rest of his team.

The NBA quarantined the whole Suns team earlier this year for several days while they tested and re-tested daily to make sure no one got sick. Three of their games were suspended and rescheduled for later in the year.

Stay tuned.

The Western Conference Finals would start on Sunday if the Clippers-Jazz series ends in six games or less.

That series is tied 2-2 at the moment, and reports have come out this morning that Kahwi Leonard will miss Game 5 due to a knee injury.

Kawhi Leonard is expected to miss Game 5 against the Jazz tonight with a knee injury suffered in game 4, sources tell & me. His status for rest of series is in doubt as well.

Phoenix Suns Chris Paul Enters Nbas Covid

Phoenix Suns monitor Chris Paul has entered the NBAs wellbeing and security conventions and is sidelined for an inconclusive timeframe, sources reveal to The Athletic.

The Phoenix Suns reported Wednesday evening that Paul is presently out because of wellbeing and security conventions. The group will give another report on his status on Saturday.

Phoenix is sitting tight for the beginning of the Western Conference finals, where it will confront the champ of the Jazz-Clippers arrangement, which is tied 2-2.

Contingent upon the clinical situation, a disengagement period could be more limited for an inoculated person.

The NBA presently cant seem to deliver the timetable for the gathering finals, yet a potential Game 7 in the Jazz-Clippers meeting elimination rounds would be played Sunday. Game 5 is on Wednesday night with Game 6 set for Friday.

The two groups are fighting unlucky deficiencies to All-Star players, with the Clippers Kawhi Leonard out uncertainly with a knee injury and the Jazzs Mike Conley yet to play in the arrangement because of a hamstring injury.

Paul, 36, was predominant in the Suns breadth of the Nuggets, recording a season-high 37 focuses in Sundays arrangement securing 125-118 win. He completed the arrangement with 41 helps to only five turnovers and arrived at the midpoint of 25.5 focuses with 10.3 helps while shooting 62.9 percent from the field.

Suns’ Chris Paul: Tests Positive For Covid

Paul was placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocol Wednesday due to a positive COVID-19 test, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.

Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news earlier Wednesday that Paul entered the health and safety protocol, but it wasn’t immediately clear whether the point guard tested positive for the virus, or was a close contact of an infected persons or persons. With Paul confirmed to have tested positive, he’ll now have to complete an isolation period, though the 36-year-old may be in line for a shorter absence after having previously received the Pfizer vaccine in February, according to Gambadoro. At this time, it’s unknown if Paul has experienced any symptoms of the coronavirus, making it uncertain if he’ll be available for the Suns‘ Game 1 matchup with either the Jazz or Clippers in the Western Conference Finals. The Jazz-Clippers semifinals series is currently tied 2-2, with Game 7 of the series set to come Sunday, if necessary.

    Chris Paul Describes How Covid

Chris Paul had a harrowing experience after coming home in the midst of waiting for his Coronavirus test results.

Chris Paul, just like many other players in the NBA, had to get tested for the Coronavirus after it was revealed that Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz got it. Paul was given a clean bill of health and is currently at home resting comfortably. In fact, he was recently on the “All The Smoke” podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, where he spoke about his experiences.

As he says, testing was actually quite the harrowing experience. Paul was tested and then got on a flight home from Oklahoma. When he got to his house, he couldn’t even go inside because he had no clue if he was positive or negative. Paul says it took three hours before he got his results back although, in the meantime, he had to sit out in the driveway.

When I left Oklahoma to come , I hadnt gotten my results back. So I got back to my house, I hadnt seen my kids since All-Star Weekend. Couldnt go in the house, though, Paul said. I sat in the driveway for three hours because I hadnt gotten my test back. I could see my kids, but I couldnt go touch themThat was tough in itself.

Paul went on to say that everything that’s going on is crazy and that he hopes to be back on the court sooner rather than later, if possible, of course.

NBA players are going through a hard time right now and Paul is no different. As fans, we are feeling that itch for sports, as well.

    When Will Chris Paul Return

According to ESPN.coms Dave McMenamin and Adrian Wojnarowski, there is optimism within the Phoenix Suns organization that Paul could return for Game 3.

The Suns were without Paul for Tuesdays Game 2 battle against the Clippers, which Deandre Ayton won on a dramatic, buzzer-beating alley-oop to give Phoenix a 104-103 win. However, theres a possibility CP3 could be back in action when the team heads to Los Angeles.

Phoenix won Game 1 without Paul, too, thanks to strong efforts from Devin Booker and Ayton. Booker recorded a 40-point triple double in the 120-114 victory. Ayton chipped in 20 points, shooting 10-of-14 from the field and playing strong defense.

In addition to the positive test, Paul caught an unfortunate break when the Clippers erased a 25-point deficit against the Jazz and dispatched Utah in six games Friday. Had the Jazz won, the Western Conference finals would have started Tuesday. Instead, they started Sunday.

    Updates On Chris Paul

The Athletics Shams Charania reported Saturday night that Paul will miss Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Suns star Chris Paul is out for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals vs. the Clippers.

    Shams Charania

In Pauls absence, Cameron Payne will slide into the starting lineup. The No. 14 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Payne made one start during the regular season, scoring 19 points and contributing six assists. With CP3 sidelined, Phoenix will need Devin Booker to deliver a strong performance.

The Clippers will also be dealing with injuries. Los Angeles ruled Kawhi Leonard out for Game 1.

But it seems all hope isnt lost for the Suns and their 36-year-old point guard, based on the latest update from ESPNs Adrian Wojnarowski.

Theyre going to re-evaluate on Saturday with Chris Paul. Im told that theres optimism, theres hope, that hes not going to miss any kind of a significant part of the Western Conference finals, maybe one game. But youre at the mercy of the testing and that protocol.

Chris Paul Bears The Brunt Of Pro Sports Vaccination Problem

Suspect coronavirus patient fears heâs put hundreds at ...

Leagues are seeing the downside of treating vaccines as simply a matter of personal choice.

About the author: Jemele Hill is a contributing writer at The Atlantic.

When the NBA announced Wednesday that Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul was being sidelined indefinitely under the leagues coronavirus-safety protocols, the next question was obvious: Had Paul been vaccinated?

For COVID-19 concerns to interrupt Pauls brilliant playoff run seemed particularly cruelnot only because the widespread availability of vaccines has made transmission of the virus largely preventable, but also because the Suns had just secured a spot in the Western Conference finals. Even though Paul is one of the best NBA point guards ever, this weeks development was another unfortunate entry in his long history of medical problems during the playoffs.

The television analystsMatt Barnes and Jalen Rose, both of whom are former NBA players, soon reported that Paul had indeed been vaccinated. But all the discussion of his status raised another important question: Do fans even have the right to know, and do journalists have the right to ask, if a player has been vaccinated against COVID-19?

Montez Sweat, a Washington defensive end, was unpersuaded. Im not a fan of it, Sweat said of vaccination. I probably wont get vaccinated until I get more facts and that stuff. Im not a fan of it at all.

How Many Games Has Chris Paul Been Ruled Out For Due To Covid Protocols

So far, there is not a lot of clarity about when Chris Paul can be expected to return from COVID protocols. According to multiple reports, Paul had been vaccinated earlier in February but recent exposure led to him being added to the safety and protocol list. The NBAs rules state that Paul will have to show two negative tests at least 24 hours apart in order to be allowed to feature.

However, his most recent COVID test, which reportedly happened a few days ago, came out positive. Since then, the Phoenix Suns have announced that Paul will not be a part of game 1. That makes him the second superstar to miss the first game of the Western Conference finals.

In addition to Chris Paul, LA Clippers Kawhi Leonard has an ACL injury and has not featured since game 4 of the Conference semifinals. He has reportedly not traveled to Phoenix with the rest of the team and is confirmed to be out for game 1. Regardless, Pauls absence is set to hurt the Suns against a Clippers team that has fought back from a 0-2 start twice in the NBA Playoffs already.

NBA TARGETS: notes that with Chris Paul off the floor this season, Devin Booker has seen a 2.1 percentage-point usage rate increase to 35%.

    Dmalika Andrews And Tim Bontemps

Suns coach Monty Williams wouldn’t say whether he expected Paul to be available for Game 1 of the West finals.

“I’m not even going to go there until I have to, so there’s no reason for me to be pessimistic at all,” Williams said. “We just have to wait and see what’s going to happen.”

The Suns said Paul’s status will be evaluated again Saturday. Williams said he and Paul have talked daily this week.

“Thankfully we’ve put ourselves in a position where we have time,” Williams said. “But at the same time, as the coach, I have to think through those scenarios. I’ve thought a lot about it. I haven’t, we haven’t, made a decision yet because we don’t have to, but it is a process for me to think about who starts and the rotation after it.”

Phoenix swept Denver in the conference semifinals and will face either the Utah Jazz or LA Clippers in the Western Conference finals, which are scheduled to start next week. Against the Nuggets, 36-year-old Paul averaged 25.5 points on 61.8% shooting, 58.3% from 3, 100% from the free throw line, plus a 41-to-5 assist-to-turnover ratio.

The protocols are the league’s playbook for handling all matters related to the coronavirus this season. There have been examples of players missing multiple weeks after positive COVID-19 tests; there have also been examples of players missing very short amounts of time for matters such as contact tracing investigations.

ESPN’s Royce Young and Tim Bontemps and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
