Are Any Chiefs Out Of Super Bowl 55 Because Of Haircuts
Daniel Kilgore and Demarcus Robinson are both officially active for Super Bowl 55. They had to quarantine for five days and test negative on each of them after their high-risk close contact with the barber on Sunday, Jan. 31.
With the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 7, a week later, Robinson and Kilgore both rejoined the team ahead of the weekend to fly to Tampa. Kilgore is a backup offensive lineman, while Robinson is a situational wide receiver.
As the week went on, no other Kansas City players were deemed high-risk close contacts. Players all underwent COVID-19 testing twice a day throughout the week leading up to the Super Bowl, and no players were placed on the COVID-19 list ahead of Super Bowl 55. Everyone that entered the week physically healthy enough to play is active as they would be, both for the Chiefs and Buccaneers.
Patrick Mahomes Provides Important Update Regarding His Covid Vaccination Status
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will do anything to help his team win. In an age where sharing one’s medical information and vaccination status has become such a controversial topic, it’s a bit shocking when an athlete offers up the information.
On an appearance on The Drive radio show with Carrington Harrison on Monday, Mahomes said he recently received the COVID-19 booster shot so that he can be available for his team and also protect the community.
“So I’ve gotten the booster. I know it’s still a rather new thing, but I try to just give myself the best opportunity to be available for my team and to keep everyone safe around me.”
Did Chiefs Patrick Mahomes Barber Have Covid
According to the NFL report, Kilgore was in the middle of getting a haircut whe the barber’s COVID-19 rapid test came back positive. The Chiefs isolated the barber immediately, who was supposed to give haircuts to multiple other players, including Mahomes and 20 others players and staff.
Thankfully, the Chiefs were able to dodge the crisis.
The players will also be placed in isolation for five days, mandated by the NFL. Both of them will be unable to practise, which also includes other team activities leading up to the Super Bowl. Still, if they continue to test negative, they will be allowed to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Reports also reveal that the barber had five negative tests before the last-minute rapid test came back positive. If at all the haircuts had gone through, the team would have been without Mahomes and others. However, if players came back negative, the time period for their return would be more.

Aaron Rodgers Tests Positive For Covid

So much for Aaron Rodgers vs. Patrick Mahomes.
The Green Bay quarterback is the latest member of the Packers to test positive for COVID-19, according to NFL Networks Tom Pelissero reported. As a result, Rodgers will not play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The NFL has considered Rodgers as unvaccinated since the start of the season, according to NFL Network.
Under league protocol, if Rodgers tests positive and is unvaccinated, he must quarantine for a minimum of 10 days and cannot return until Nov. 13 if he remains asymptomatic. The Packers are set to play the Seahawks on Nov. 14,
The reigning NFL MVP said in August that he was immunized when asked about his vaccination status.
You know, theres a lot of conversation around it, around the league, and a lot of guys who have made statements and not made statements, owners who have made statements, Rodgers said at the time.
Theres guys on the team that havent been vaccinated. I think its a personal decision. Im not going to judge those guys. There are guys thatve been vaccinated that have contracted COVID. Its an interesting issue that I think were going to see played out the entire season.

Chiefs Te Travis Kelce Out Vs Steelers After Failing To Clear Covid
Digital Content Editor
With a division title in their sights, the Kansas City Chiefs will be without one of their premier pass-catchers on Sunday afternoon.
Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce did not clear COVID-19 protocols ahead of K.C.’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and will not play, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source. The team officially ruled him out later Sunday, along with linebacker Nick Bolton and offensive lineman Lucas Niang.
The Chiefs had preemptively activated Kelce off of the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday with hopes that he would test out of protocols. He did not.
K.C. will also be without QBs coach Mike Kafka, running backs coach Greg Lewis and assistant O-line coach Corey Matthaei, all of whom remain in COVID protocols.
Kelce was expected to follow the path of Tyreek Hill back to the roster for game time. Hill was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday before clearing protocols and being activated Saturday. Placed on the COVID list on Monday, Kelce, the reigning Offensive Player of the Week, will now miss K.C.’s Week 16 clash, his first missed game of the season.
The tight end is not alone in sitting out the Chiefs’ meeting with the visiting Steelers. Kansas City is without both kicker Harrison Butker and punter Tommy Townsend Elliott Fry and Johnny Townsend, Tommy’s brother, are filling in in those respective roles. Blake Bell, who was also sidelined this week with COVID, figures to take Kelce’s snaps at tight end.
How A Chiefs Trainer Saved Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl 55 From Covid
Patrick Mahomes was in line for a haircut, in real life, not a commercial. And if the timing hadn’t been so fortunate, the Chiefs quarterback may have been a question mark for Super Bowl 55.
That’s because in the week leading up to the Super Bowl, Kansas City’s barber tested positive for COVID-19. He’d already cut Demarcus Robinson’s hair and part of Daniel Kilgore’s, so the backup wide receiver and offensive lineman both went on the COVID-19/reserve list for contact tracing reasons. But no Chiefs tested positive for COVID-19 in the final week of the NFL season, in part because of the quick thinking of a trainer.
Here’s how haircuts played such a major role in the Chiefs’ build-up to a potential Super Bowl repeat.

Before his junior year in high school he came to me that summer wanting to quit football, but I just said you’re going to regret it if you quit, she told him.

I mean, whatever you believe I think you can do whatever that is and we’ll figure out the best way to keep each other healthy by social distancing and doing whatever it is whenever we can in this building.”
In addition to discussing his own vaccination, Reid was asked if he knew how many Chiefs players have been vaccinated to this point.

Jason Whitlock Disappointed With Tom Brady And Patrick Mahomes Over Covid
Jason Whitlock is a conservative figure known for his political views on society and cultural issues. The journalist has been seen in a number of major publications, including ESPN and Fox Sports, and was recently hired by Blaze Media after leaving Fox.
Whitlock’s views have been widely criticized, and he’s been involved in a lot of polemics over his career, such as his releases from ESPN and Outkick to his unnecessary comments about Jeremy Lin and former ESPN colleagues.
My appeal to the men at ESPN to dry their tears and return to manhood. Don’t let the feminine and Alphabet Mafia energy at ESPN emasculate you. The country needs masculine men to rise up and be #Fearless
As it seems now, the current Blaze media journalist is having a new problem with sports athletes, and he’s not satisfied with some of NFL’s biggest stars.
Report: Patrick Mahomes Planned To See Barber Who Tested Positive For Covid
Steve Sanders/Associated Press
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported more than 20 members of the Chiefs roster and coaching staff were scheduled to get haircuts Sunday from a barber the team had brought in who tested positive for COVID-19. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was among those scheduled for a trim.
The team removed the barber once it became aware of his positive test.
For those wondering: Being that Chiefs’ C Daniel Kilgore already was sitting in the barber chair and deemed a “close contact”, he told the barber to finish. And he did.But this has the makings to become the first “Touch of Gray” endorsement to come out of Super Bowl week.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Kansas City had placed Kilgore and receiver Demarcus Robinson on the reserve/COVID-19 list, though neither player was flagged for a positive test.
Per Schefter, Kilgore will remain home until Saturday and can suit up for the Super Bowl as long as he continues to test negative. The 33-year-old had some fun with the situation:

Patrick Mahomes Says He Has Received A Covid
KANSAS CITY, Missouri Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and East Texas native Patrick Mahomes announced Monday that he has received a COVID-19 vaccine.
Rob Collins, the sports director of our sister station in Kansas City, tweeted the announcement during a normal press conference that the team was holding.
The quarterback did not say which vaccine he received, however, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has been temporarily halted due to an investigation into an ultra-rare blood clotting issue. It has only affected six people in the United States after being given to nearly seven million.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than half of the United States population has received at least one dose of a vaccine.
Mahomes also said that he is progressing ahead of schedule in recovering from his toe injury that was evident throughout the playoffs. He had surgery earlier this year shortly after the Super Bowl.
Later he joked that his golf and video game time has gone down significantly since his daughter Sterling was born.
