How Many Deaths From The Covid Vaccine

Where Does Vaccine Misinformation Come From

Vaccine Questions: How many deaths after Covid-19 vaccine?

Vaccine misinformation distributed across social media and other sites comes from a number of sources, many of which are not credible and blatantly false. However, as is often the case with misinformation, some claims gain traction because they begin with a kernel of truth.

Many sources of false information will often cite the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System .

VAERS was established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration in 1990 as an early warning system to detect potential safety issues with vaccines. It allows anyone to report adverse effects experienced after receiving any vaccine, including the COVID-19 vaccines.

, more than 520 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020 through January 10, 2022. During this time, VAERS received 11,225 reports of death among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine.

However, this does not mean the vaccine caused these deaths.

VAERS is unique in that its a system that accepts reports from anyone, Morris said. It can be a doctor or a hospital or a health department that reports a death that is timed after a vaccine, or it can be a patient or a family member of someone who had an adverse reaction or just had a reaction.

Therefore, these statistics offer no insight into the actual cause of death in these cases.

So the reports initially are correlation, not causation, Morris said.

Why Covid Death Rates Are Rising For Some Groups

By Denise Lu and Albert SunDec. 28, 2021

The overall rate of Covid-19 deaths has declined since vaccines became widely available in April, yet nearly a quarter million people in the United States have died from the virus in the past eight months. The virus is now responsible for a higher share of deaths from all causes for younger Americans and white Americans than it was before all adults were eligible for vaccines.

The Cause And Manner Of The Comedian’s Death Have Not Yet Been Released But Social Media Users Are Making Vaccine Claims Without Evidence

Actor and comic Bob Saget was found dead on Jan. 9 in a hotel room in Orlando, a day after he had performed a set there.

The county sheriffs office tweeted that deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive man at the Ritz-Carlton he was identified as Bob Saget.

Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case, the sheriffs office said.

Joshua Stephany, the countys medical examiner, announced on Jan. 10 that an autopsy had been completed but that the cause and manner of death were pending further studies and investigation which may take up to 10-12 weeks to complete.

That hasnt stopped some social media users from claiming without evidence that the star of Full House and Americas Funniest Home Videos died from a COVID-19 vaccine.

Another victim of the jab, .

Bob Saget died from vaccine complications in his hotel room, on the first night of his fully vaccinated comedy tour, another claimed.

He just received his COVID booster a few weeks ago, .

This post was flagged as part of Facebooks efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed.

Sagets publicist did not immediately respond to PolitiFacts questions about the posts, but no credible news reports or statements from authorities or Sagets family have connected his death to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Saget has also joked about the vaccine, tweeting in July that he got vaccinated five to six times a day and I feel great!!

+ Deaths Reported To Vaers Following Covid Vaccines

LifeSiteNews has produced an extensive COVID-19 vaccines resources page. View it here.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today released new data showing that a total of 965,843 reports of adverse events following COVID vaccines were submitted between Dec. 14, 2020, and Dec. 10, 2021, to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System . VAERS is the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S.

The data included a total of 20,244 reports of deaths an increase of 358 over the previous week and 155,506 reports of serious injuries, including deaths, during the same time period up 4,560 compared with the previous week.

Excluding foreign reports to VAERS, 691,884 adverse events, including 9,295 deaths and 59,767 serious injuries, were reported in the U.S. between Dec. 14, 2020, and Dec. 10, 2021.

Foreign reports are reports received by U.S. manufacturers from their foreign subsidiaries. Under U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations, if a manufacturer is notified of a foreign case report that describes an event that is both serious and does not appear on the products labeling, the manufacturer is required to submit the report to VAERS.

Of the 9,295 U.S. deaths reported as of Dec. 10, 21% occurred within 24 hours of vaccination, 26% occurred within 48 hours of vaccination and 61% occurred in people who experienced an onset of symptoms within 48 hours of being vaccinated.

Delta Air Lines And A Union Spar Over Isolation Periods For Sick Workers

What will COVID

Delta Air Lines and a large flight attendants union are fighting about whether the companys new isolation policy for employees who test positive for the coronavirus puts workers and travelers at risk.

The airlines chief legal officer sent a letter on Friday to the Association of Flight Attendants-C.W.A. saying the union had posted false and defamatory information about the companys policies and asking it to correct those statements and stop repeating them. The union, which represents nearly 50,000 flight attendants at 17 airlines and is seeking to unionize Deltas flight attendants, responded on Tuesday that its statements had been truthful and accurate.

Delta has always followed the science to form our policies regarding Covid-19, the airline said in a statement on Tuesday. We sent a cease and desist letter because we believe institutions and leaders must speak carefully, truthfully and factually.

The unions president, Sara Nelson, said Delta was responsible for confusing workers. Were glad that A.F.A.s calling attention to the issues appears to have led Delta to update its policy several times and communicate this to workers, Ms. Nelson said in her letter, which was addressed to Deltas chief executive, Ed Bastian.

Ms. Nelson criticized the changes, warning airlines that they could put passengers and airline employees at risk. Deltas pilots union has expressed similar concerns.

Scary Reports Of Deaths Following Covid

You might have seen the headlines on social media.

COVID-19 Vaccine-Related Fatalities Exceed 6,000.

6,000% Increase in Reported Vaccine Deaths 1st Quarter 2021 Compared to 1st Quarter 2020.

No matter your vaccination status or your feelings about getting the shot, those headlines likely give you pause. Can those numbers be right?

These and similar shocking claims are the latest examples of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation. And as with most misinformation, these statements get traction because they start with a kernel of truth in this case raw data from a reputable source.

Reporting Even Unrelated Deaths

The Food and Drug Administration requires health care providers to report any serious adverse event that happens after a COVID-19 vaccination whether or not the provider thinks there is any link. The CDC says, “Health care providers are required to report to VAERS the following adverse events after COVID-19 vaccinationregardless if the reporter thinks the vaccine caused the AE.” AE stands for adverse event and includes death.

That means that if a vaccinated person drowns, gets in a car crash or is struck by lightning, their death must be reported to VAERS as an adverse event. Since we’ve vaccinated over 223 million people in the United States, many deaths will occur coincidentally after vaccination.

As of Nov. 2, people have reported to VAERS 14,506 deaths that occurred sometime after COVID-19 vaccination. Doctors at the CDC review each reported death, looking at death certificates, autopsy and medical records. Additional CDC vaccine safety monitoring systems such as the National Healthcare Safety Network, Vaccine Safety Datalink, Clinical Immununization Safety Assessment Project and FDA’s vaccine safety reporting systems are then used to provide more rigorous scientific investigation of potential adverse events. The true number of deaths currently attributed to COVID-19 vaccines in detailed scientific investigation is quite small.

A Czech Tennis Player Who Left Australia Over A Visa Dispute Says Shell Seek Compensation

The Czech tennis player Renata Voracova, who was allowed into Australia, played a match and then became ensnared in the same vaccine exemption controversy as the world No. 1 mens player, Novak Djokovic, has vowed to seek compensation for her ordeal from Tennis Australia.

Voracova, a doubles player, was granted entry for the Australian Open and played one warm-up match before her medical exemption was scrutinized anew on Thursday after the cancellation of Djokovics visa.

She was taken to the same refugee-detention hotel where Djokovic was staying, and was questioned by the Australian authorities. Voracova described her experience as the darkest dream and said she had burst into tears.

The experience pushed Voracova to voluntarily leave the country on Saturday night, even though she had been granted a medical exemption from vaccination on the same basis as Djokovic a coronavirus infection within the past six months according to the local news media.

Voracova told the Czech newspaper Denik that she intended to seek compensation for her ordeal and expenses.

The air ticket alone cost 60,000 Czech crowns, and my coach traveled with me, she said. And then there is all that time, hotels, training for the Grand Slam, the potential prize money.

She added, I hope Tennis Australia will face up to it and that we wont have to take legal steps.

Tennis Australia did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

More Countries Shift To Self

COVID-19 vaccine trial paused over ‘unexplained illness’

Rapid antigen testing kits have flooded into supermarkets, online shops and pharmacies around the world as countries race to keep up with the Omicron variants swift pace of transmission, marking a shift to the self-administered tests from P.C.R. testing, which has long been considered the gold standard for detecting the coronavirus.

But there is no definitive international guideline for the use of antigen tests for Covid-19, and a global patchwork of policies has emerged as each country weighs the advantages and risks of the alternative testing method.

Britain has used at-home rapid antigen tests to fight outbreaks since 2020, even before Omicron, and makes them freely available. France began letting supermarkets sell them late last month. The Biden administration recently said that it planned to make 500 million tests available free and that Americans could request that tests be sent to their homes.

Singapore has allowed people to leave isolation if they get a negative antigen test result after 72 hours. Israel is asking people to swab their throats when using rapid antigen tests, not just their nostrils, to increase the chances of detecting the virus even if it goes against the manufacturers instructions.

There are hugely variable approaches into where, when and how antigen tests are used across different countries, said Deborah Williamson, a professor of public health at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

The Life Cycle Of A Covid

He thinks the elements of the Republican Party that are endorsing anti-vaccine ideas need to take a big step back. “I’m not trying to change Republican thinking or far-right thinking,” he says. “I’m trying to say: ‘The anti-science doesn’t belong it doesn’t fit. … Just stop it and save lives.’ ”

Before his illness, Phil Valentine had sometimes promoted unproven alternative therapies and taken a mocking tone toward vaccination. As his situation deteriorated, Mark says the talk show host realized he needed to encourage his listeners to get vaccinated. Phil told his brother, “‘My fear is that because I didn’t get it, other folks may not get it,” Mark Valentine recalls. The family put out a statement in support of vaccination, and Mark went on to his brother’s talk show to encourage listeners to take the shot.

He also headed to his local Walmart to get vaccinated. “The guy comes out he said, ‘Do you have any questions or concerns?’ ” Mark Valentine recalls. “I said, ‘Hell yeah, I’ve got both, but do it anyway.’ “

French Officials Say They Will Not Change Course Even As Cases Soar And Strikes Loom

The French government said on Wednesday that it would stick with its strategy of keeping the country open, despite record-shattering coronavirus case reports, growing public frustration over testing protocols in schools and the threat of strikes by teachers over Covid safety.

France is now averaging nearly 300,000 newly reported coronavirus cases a day, almost six times as many as a month ago and far more than at any earlier point in the pandemic. Some 23,000 Covid-19 patients are in French hospitals, nearly 4,000 of them in intensive care. Nearly 2 percent of the countrys entire population tested positive in a single week, from Dec. 27 to Jan. 2, according to French health authorities.

The pandemic is stronger than ever in our country, Gabriel Attal, a government spokesman, acknowledged to reporters on Wednesday after a cabinet meeting. But despite those dizzying figures, he said, we are not changing course.

We want to live as normally as possible despite the virus, Mr. Attal added.

The surge in cases has been driven by the rapid spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant, which now accounts for 90 percent of new infections, Mr. Attal said.

While there is evidence that Omicron tends to cause less severe illness than previous coronavirus variants did, France was already being battered by a wave of Covid-19 cases attributable to the Delta variant when Omicron started to surge, compounding the pressure on French hospitals.

How Are Case Rates Changing

Lockdown had brought down case rates for everyone. But different age groups have been affected differently. Throughout the pandemic working-age people between 20 and 60 have had the highest levels of infection.

This has become more stark since the vaccine rollout has protected many of the more vulnerable elderly people in society, with case rates rising among the younger groups while staying relatively low among older people.

Not All Numbers Are Equal

Focusing on an absolute number how far it is from zero, regardless of its relative value in the real world can be very misleading.

Lets say 95% of NSWs entire population of approximately 8,000,000 was fully vaccinated. Thats 7.6 million people. Imagine 0.05% of fully vaccinated people needed to be hospitalised with COVID. Thats just shy of 4,000 people.

Lets also say 1% of the remaining 400,000 unvaccinated people were hospitalised with COVID. Thats 4,000 people.

So the absolute number of hospitalised vaccinated people would be similar to the hospitalised unvaccinated people.

But, less than 0.05% of fully vaccinated people are in hospital, compared to 1% of unvaccinated people thats 20 times higher!

The same scenario could be applied to absolute numbers of COVID deaths.

Another way to explain this relates to whats known as Simpons paradox: when a very large proportion of the population is vaccinated, it is quite likely that a larger absolute number of cases will be vaccinated rather than unvaccinated. To compare effects, one must instead focus on the rates of cases and death from COVID.

Fda Releases First Round Of Documents Analyzed For Approval Of Pfizers Comirnaty Covid

In another article we showed the first round of 91+ documents, used for the approval of Pfizers Comirnaty by the FDA approval, obtained in November through a Freedom of Information lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed by a group called Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency, comprised of more than 30 professors and scientists from universities including Yale, Harvard, UCLA and Brown.

The FDA fought back requesting from a judge that it be given 55 years to release all 329,000 pages of documents related to the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine requested by the group. The FDA has now modified that request, asking a judge for a delay of 75 years.
