• All travellers 5 years of age or older
• You must provide proof of a COVID-19 negative molecular test result to enter Canada OR proof of a previous positive test result taken between 14 and 180 days ago .

If you are now symptom-free, you can provide proof of a positive COVID-19 molecular test when crossing the border, instead of a negative one.

• The test must have been taken at least 14 and no more than 180 days before :
• the initial scheduled departure time of your aircraft
• your scheduled entry into Canada by water or land
• The proof of the positive result must be from an accepted type of molecular test
• If your positive proof is accepted you wont have to take arrival or Day-8 tests

You must take a molecular test within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your flight to Canada.

If you have a connecting flight:

• the test must be taken within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your last direct flight to Canada
• you may need to schedule the test in your transit city

How Can I Get This Test

This test can be ordered through your doctor, either in-person or via telehealth through a telemedicine program if offered by your health plan or employer or through some employee wellness plans. The test can also be conveniently requested through Labcorp.com using an independent physician service, PWNHealth, to determine if the test is right for you.

Once the test order is placed, your antibody blood sample can be collected in the physician’s office or at one of nearly 2,000 convenient Labcorp patient service centers, including Labcorp at Walgreens.

Cleaning And Safety Standards

Please know that all testing locations, whether they are testing people with symptoms or without symptoms, have very high cleaning and safety standards to make sure the virus does not spread. What Should You Expect With A Covid

Alberta is delaying the start of in-person learning for kindergarten to Grade 12 students after the province recorded its biggest jump in daily COVID-19 cases.

Education Minister Adriana LaGrange said the winter break will be extended to Jan. 10 because the highly contagious Omicron variant poses additional risk to health and resources.

Antigen tests are, however, useful for screening asymptomatic people if they are tested at regular intervals . Serial testing is usually done 2 to 3 times over a period of 36 hours. This increases the overall sensitivity.

Health Officials Look For New Metrics Amid Unreliable Covid

For much of the pandemic, daily case counts have offered a steady, if imperfect, means of taking the viruss measure.

But a surge incases of the Omicron variant is now swamping COVID-19 testing sites and forcing people to rely on at-home rapid tests, the results of which are generally not added to official tallies. This has causedthose daily counts to become so unreliable that health officials are looking to other metrics for pandemic surveillance.

The scientific director of Ontarios COVID-19 science advisory table, Peter Juni, estimates that the provinces daily count is now capturingjust one case out of every five to eight cases in the province.

Its absolutely impossible to understand the numbers were seeing right now compared with the numbers two weeks ago, said Dr. Juni, who is also an epidemiologist at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto.
