Of the 199 patients requiring HFNC, 55 were treated with prone positioning. Although the time to intubation was 1 day in patients receiving HFNC and prone positioning versus 2 days in patients receiving only HFNC , the use of awake prone positioning did not reduce the risk of intubation .13
