Walgreens Announces Partnership With Adobe To Launch Covid
Walgreens is using Adobe Experience Cloud to accelerate the company’s digital transformation efforts and deliver their Covid-19 vaccine portal and updated myWalgreens app.
On Wednesday, Walgreens announced a partnership with Adobe to release its Covid-19 vaccine portal and an updated version of its myWalgreens app.
Using the online portal, customers can get vaccine information, check their eligibility, register for appointments, receive reminders and more. Customers can use the myWalgreens app to access services such as 24/7 pharmacy chat, personalized health advice and vaccine appointment information. In March alone, Walgreens said it provided over 4 million people their first vaccine shot. The company also pointed out that the myWalgreens app has been downloaded nearly 70 million times and has more than 56 million members.
The portal and app are the result of work done through a strategic partnership Walgreens Boots Alliance, the pharmacys parent company, has with Adobe and Microsoft. Using Adobe Experience Cloud and applications like Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Analytics, the portal was delivered in a few short weeks, through a coordinated effort with teams spanning IT, product, marketing, retail and more, said the company in a press release.
Its been clearly a difficult year, but has really helped us lean into how we can help our customers through unlocking how we work as the organization.

Walgreens has been added to the list of pharmacies offering COVID-19 vaccines to eligible Oregonians.
Walgreens joins Albertsons, Safeway, Costco and Health Mart as the Oregon pharmacies that receive weekly vaccine doses through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
Elderly Oregonians who have managed to schedule appointments at the pharmacies have reported positive experiences after facing struggles trying to schedule appointments through the states vaccination scheduling website at mass vaccination sites like the Oregon Convention Center or Portland International Airport.
However, securing an appointment at a pharmacy remains difficult. The participating pharmacies across the state are each receiving only about 100 doses per week.
Walgreens said its Oregon pharmacies received 8,190 initial COVID-19 vaccine doses this week, but declined to provide a list of pharmacies that had received doses or say how many doses each store received.
Eligible Oregonians interested in trying to schedule an appointment can visit Walgreens.com/ScheduleVaccine or call 1-800-Walgreens. However, there were no available appointments within 25 miles of Portland on Thursday morning.
Customers can also sign up to receive alerts from Walgreens about available vaccine appointments.

Where To Get A Covid
Over 70 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the US. If you’re planning to get a shot, it’s important to know where to go.

COVID-19 vaccines are now available at Walgreen’s, CVS and other health facilities.
Around 70.5 million Americans have been vaccinated since approval in mid-December . And with more vaccines being rapidly released across the country, your turn to get a COVID-19 vaccine could be sooner than you think. Right now, the current vaccine options are Pfizer and Moderna, but more brands could be approved very soon.
While not all groups are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine at this time, some places are offering a waitlist for anyone to sign up to get a vaccine, if any are available. Last month, President Joe Biden said he expects anyone that who wants to get the vaccine will be able to do so by this spring. Vaccine distribution has already ramped up by 70% since Biden took office, The White House reported in a tweet on Friday.
Note that prioritization and organization of who gets a vaccine are being handled on the state level and, in many cases, on the county level. Some counties and hospitals are encouraging people to get vaccinated wherever they can, rather than waiting for their primary care facility.

Convenient Appointment Times Available To Accommodate Family And School Schedules
DEERFIELD, Ill., November 03, 2021 – Walgreens will begin administering Pfizers COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 5 to 11 in thousands of stores nationwide beginning Saturday, Nov. 6. Appointments will be available beginning Saturday and can be made at Walgreens.com/ScheduleVaccine, through the Walgreens app or by calling 1-800-Walgreens. Digital Transformation Is About Blending The Digital And Physical
Bill Detwiler: You talked about partnerships, and I think thats really important, because it takes more than one organization, one team, to really handle an event like the pandemic, but also just to handle regular transformation that you would have. And I know you and I are talking today really about a partnership you have with Adobe. So what Id love to get your take on it is how does the portal and the work youre doing with Adobe fit into Walgreens overall digital transformation strategy?
Alyssa Raine: Absolutely. We at Walgreens are focused on two things, health and our digital transformation. A year ago we announced our partnership with Adobe and it has been a fantastic first year. We launched our first use cases back in November that were more sending up the pipes, putting water through the pipes. And what were focusing now on is our most key strategic initiatives, and how Adobe can help us unlock them.
First was Covid-19, which we are announcing this week. We then are focusing on pickup. We have pickup in as little as 30 minutes across our 9,000 locations. And so we are partnering with Adobe on further unlocking pickup. We also have our value strategy that were partnering with Adobe on continuing to unlock, so that we are providing the most personal value to all of the 8 million customers that we interact with every single day.

Walgreens Statement Regarding Fda Emergency Use Authorization Of Covid
This press release features multimedia. View the full release here:
We will be collaborating with nearly 35,000 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities nationwide that have selected Walgreens as their vaccine provider. As states finalize their distribution plans, we believe we can begin administration in some long-term care facilities on the date of activation approved by the CDC to help ensure those most vulnerable are among the first to be protected against the virus.
Our purpose to champion the health and wellbeing of every community in America has never been more clear or critical, said John Standley, Walgreens president. Walgreens pharmacists have been supporting communities every step of the way throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and will play an important role in the administration of vaccines to high-priority groups, as well as the general public, once available.
With our nationwide store footprint, extensive vaccine experience and pharmacy team members embedded in communities across the country, we are prepared to expand access to the general population through our more than 9,000 stores once COVID-19 vaccines become available more broadly in 2021. We will continue to work closely with Operation Warp Speed, as well as the CDC, Health and Human Services and federal and state governments to ensure the administration of COVID-19 vaccines across the nation as soon as possible.

What You Need to Know About Expanded Guidance
- Boosters for Individuals 12 and Older: Children 12-15 who completed their Pfizer COVID-19 primary vaccine series at least five months ago are now eligible to receive a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, per new guidance from the CDC. This is in addition to those 16 and older who are recommended to receive boosters.
- Shortened Booster Interval for Individuals 12 and Older: All individuals 12 and older who completed their primary vaccination series of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine are now eligible to receive a booster shot five months after their second dose. The FDA recommended shortening the interval from six months to five months based on newly submitted data that indicates a booster dose of Pfizers COVID-19 vaccine may safely provide better protection sooner for individuals against the highly transmissible Omicron variant. Intervals for those receiving Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 boosters have not changed from previous guidance.
- Additional Primary Dose for Immunocompromised Children Ages 5-11: Children 5-11 who are moderately or severely immunocompromised are now eligible to receive an additional primary dose of Pfizers COVID-19 vaccine 28 days following their second dose. Children 5-11 who are fully vaccinated and are not immunocompromised are not eligible for a booster at this time.
