What States Have No Covid Restrictions

Proof Of Vaccination Still Needed

India’s Omicron tally crosses 350-mark, states start reimposing Covid restrictions

Despite the lifting of pre-entry test requirements, the requirement to be fully vaccinated with a government-approved COVID-19 vaccine in order to board federally-regulated air, rail, and marine transportation remains in effect.

Pre-entry testing requirements have not changed for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers who are currently allowed to travel to Canada.

Unless otherwise exempt, all travellers age 12 or older who do not qualify as fully vaccinated having received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine accepted for travel or a mix of two vaccines must continue to provide proof of a negative pre-entry COVID-19 test result.

Accepted pre-entry tests include a health professional-administered negative rapid antigen test taken no more than one day before arriving at a port of entry, or a negative molecular test taken no more than 72 hours before a scheduled flight or crossing at a land border.

Partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers may also provide a positive molecular test taken at least 10 days and no more than 180 days before their scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border to enter Canada. Positive antigen test results are not accepted.

The government recommends completing a COVID-19 vaccine series, along with any additional recommended doses in Canada, at least 14 days before travelling internationally. For those who must travel, the government suggests delaying one’s plans until they are fully vaccinated.

Democratic Republic Of Congo

Travelers 11 and older must arrive with proof of a negative coronavirus test taken within three days of their departure. Another test will be given at the airport for $45, and people must self-quarantine until they receive a negative result, generally within 24 hours. Proof of health and medical evacuation insurance is also required.

To exit the country, travelers must present a negative test result taken within three days of planned departure, according to the U.S. Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The cost of the test is $30. The C.D.C. risk assessment for Covid-19 is Level 3: High.

Restrictions Ease In Puerto Rico

Masks must be worn in all closed spaces and outside if there is a crowd of 50 or more people. Gov. Since Aug. 23, employees of restaurants or other enclosed places that serve food or drinks must get vaccinated against the coronavirus, and customers must show a vaccination card or a negative virus test.

Retiring The Blueprint Map

Under the old Blueprint for a Safer Economy framework, every California county was assigned to a risk-level tier. Based on their positivity rate, adjusted case rate, and/or health equity metric , counties faced varying degrees of activity and capacity restrictions. The weekly status was shown on a map with four tier colors: purple, red, orange, and yellow.

The Blueprint framework was Californias reality from August 2020 to June 2021, but it is no longer in effect. You can find the latest data about your county on the State Dashboard.

En español | For more than a year, governors across the country have issued orders and recommendations to their residents on the status of schools, businesses and public services in response to the coronavirus pandemic. As of July 1, most states had lifted the COVID-19 safety measures they had put in place. Now, as the delta and omicron variants spread, cities and communities are reinstating mask mandates.

On Aug. 23, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. On Sept. 9, President Joe Biden signed an executive order that requires all federal executive branch employees to get the vaccine. Biden also directed the U.S. Department of Labors Occupational Safety and Health Administration to require employers with more than 100 employees to mandate employees get the vaccine or submit to regular testing. On Nov. 4, OSHA issued the Emergency Temporary Standard requiring covered employers to mandate that employees be fully vaccinated by Jan. 4 or submit to regular testing, but the mandate has been suspended pending legal challenges. Some states have already adopted mandates that apply to state employees and health care workers.

Impacting TravelLaurie Baratti July 08, 2021

Since COVID-19 first began sweeping the U.S. and was elevated to pandemic status by the World Health Organization in March 2020, it has been left up to individual states governments to set their own policies aimed at stemming its spread.

Over the past 16 months, weve watched state and jurisdictional administrations implement their own particular restrictions and requirements regarding interstate travel in efforts to prevent new surges within their own borders even as Americans tried to relieve their cabin fever by taking domestic road trips, and traveled across state lines to see family and friends during the holidays.

Now, nationwide infection rates have dropped dramatically in the months since COVID-19 vaccines were first made widely available. Feeling that weve finally gained the upper hand over the virus, most state governments have repealed their former restrictions for out-of-state visitors, but there are still a few holdouts.

Heres a look at the states that have yet to drop all domestic traveler requirements and fully reopen their economies.

Hawaii:

Hawaii has maintained some of the toughest policies toward travelers throughout the pandemic, with Governor David Ige being extremely wary of overwhelming the islands limited healthcare systems and resources, maintaining Hawaiians health as his foremost priority.
