What Our Customers Say

I prefer patronizing local, independent businesses and Theatre earns my business in many ways: prompt, efficient service good hours helpful staff and interesting merchandise I dont find elsewhere.

They carry prescription meds that other pharmacies told me they had to order. And when one medication had a supply problem, the pharmacist called around to others to find it for me.

Andrew P., Lincoln, MA

I have not used another pharmacy since moving to Lexington over 35 years ago. It is the only pharmacy I trust 100%. I always let them know if I can wait for medication , and I trust the advice of the very experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated pharmacists. The staff is consistent and lovely in the front of the store. Its also a great place for greeting cards, medical supplies and other items. In all the time Ive been using Theatre Pharmacy, they have never made an error. They are the best. Really. The absolute best. That is, besides being just really nice people. I cannot say enough positive things about this pharmacy. If you are in the area, just use them. You wont regret it.

Helene M., Lexington, MA

What Do I Need To Do/know About The Johnson & Johnsons Janssen Covid

The FDA and the CDC are confident that the vaccine is safe and effective at preventing COVID-19. At this time, the available data suggests that the chance of developing a rare blood disorder thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome is very low, and the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks.

For women between the ages of 18 and 49, this adverse event is rare, occurring at a rate of about 7 per 1 million vaccinated women. For women 50 years and older and men of all ages, this adverse event is even more rare. Women younger than 50 should be aware that other COVID-19 vaccines are available where this risk has not been seen.

Patients who receive the Janssen vaccine should monitor for severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain or shortness of breath for 2 weeks after administration.

If experiencing symptoms, patients should contact their healthcare provider.

Isolation & Quarantine Guidance

The Cambridge Public Health Department has adopted the Massachusetts Department of Public Healths , with some additional recommendations. The CPHD recommendations are as follows:

  • If you test positive, you must isolate for at least 5 days and wear a mask for 10 days. CPHD strongly recommends taking a rapid antigen test and receiving a negative result before ending home isolation after Day 5.
  • If you are exposed, CPHD strongly recommends taking a PCR or antigen test on Day 5, regardless of vaccination or booster status. If you test positive, you should stay home and follow MDPH isolation guidance.
  • If you test positive or are exposed, you must wear a mask throughout the 10-day isolation or quarantine period. CPHD strongly recommends wearing a well-fitting, high quality mask, such as a KF94, KN95, or N95 mask. CPHD discourages the use of cloth masks because they do not provide adequate protection.

How Do We Know If The Vaccine Is Safe

Its important to know that vaccines go through more testing than any other pharmaceuticals. First, small groups of people receive the trial vaccine. Next, vaccine is given to people with certain characteristics . Then, vaccine is given to tens of thousands of people and tested for effectiveness and safety.

After that, the CDCs Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices looks at the data to see whether the vaccine works and is safe. They give advice to the United States Food and Drug Administration . The FDA looks at the data and the advice from the ACIP and decides whether to approve the vaccine. The vaccine is only approved after all of these steps are done, and the experts are sure that it works and is safe.

Heres How To Get A Qr Code To Prove Your Covid

Massachusetts on Monday launched an online website where residents can obtain a QR code to show proof that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The QR code can be scanned at various establishments that may require proof of vaccination to enter.

While Massachusetts does not have a statewide vaccination mandate to enter certain establishments, some individual businesses might require proof of vaccination before entering. In Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu announced last month that the city will require proof of vaccination at venues like restaurants, bars, gyms, and movie theaters. That measure goes into effect on Saturday.

The new system is optional and available for people who are interested in obtaining a digital method to prove their COVID vaccination status.

It is your information downloaded onto your phone if you choose to do so, Governor Charlie Baker said during a press conference on Monday. I think its a far more customer-friendly and effective way to make this tool available to people who want to use it.

The new website verifies a persons name, phone number, and e-mail address against the vaccination records in the states public health database and generates a QR code that residents can use when needed.

Here are answers to some questions you may have about how the new system works.

What Are The Benefits Of Getting A Covid

COVID-19 vaccination will help keep you from getting sick from COVID-19. All COVID-19 vaccines available in the U.S. have been shown to be very effective. Experts continue to conduct more studies about whether the vaccines also keep people from spreading COVID-19. Wearing masks and social distancing help lower your chance of getting the virus or spreading it to others, but these measures are not enough. The combination of getting vaccinated and following CDCs recommendations to protect yourself and others will offer the best protection from COVID-19.
